Chorizo Day
Tradition celebrated on 23 February consisting of the tasting of chorizo sausage, usually with its bun.
Chorizo Day in Puertollano is celebrated every 23 January, an ancient tradition in which chorizo sausages are handed out. There are several theories about the origin of this tradition, although none of them are verified. On this day the people of Puertollano usually go out to the outskirts of the city (Cerro de Santa Ana, Cerro de San Sebastián, Dehesa Boyal) to "eat the chorizo".
