Festivities and traditions
Feast of Our Lady of Grace
Patron saint festival celebrated on 8 September with the offering of flowers and the procession of the Virgin through the streets of the town.
The Fiestas Patronales de la Virgen de Gracia in Puertollano date back to the end of the 15th century. They are held every year in September, in honour of the Virgen de Gracia. Devotion, culture and tradition, together with the offering of flowers and procession, are combined with activities such as concerts, children's workshops and popular meals. The main venues for the celebrations are the Fair Grounds, the Paseo de San Gregorio and above all the roundabout of the Church of the Virgen de Gracia. Although these festivities are more intimate and homely compared to the May fairs, they continue to be a time of reunion for the people of Puertollano, both those who live there and those who return for the celebrations.
Chorizo Day
Tradition celebrated on 23 February consisting of the tasting of chorizo sausage, usually with its bun.
Hornazo Day
A tradition in which families and friends go out to the countryside or take part in celebrations to enjoy this traditional sweet (the hornazo).
May Fair
